Throughout the course, students will work with our instructor ZIAD FALOUGHI on building their own tracks from start to finish, with opportunities for feedback and collaboration. By the end, students will have gained the foundational skills needed to produce, arrange, and finalize music using Ableton Live, preparing them for more advanced production techniques in future classes.

1. Introduction to Ableton Live Interface:
   o Navigating the session view and arrangement view.
   o Understanding tracks, clips, and scenes.
   o Basic setup of MIDI and audio tracks.
2. Audio and MIDI Recording:
   o Recording audio from microphones and instruments.
   o MIDI sequencing using virtual instruments and external controllers.
   o Editing and quantizing MIDI and audio clips.
3. Sound Design and Synthesis:
   o Using Ableton’s built-in synthesizers
      (e.g., Analog, Wavetable, and Operator) to create custom sounds.
   o Introduction to sampling and using the Simpler and Sampler devices.
   o Basic sound design principles: modulation, filtering, and effects.
4. Arrangement and Composition:
   o Structuring a track: intro, verse, chorus, bridge, and outro.
   o Using loops, samples, and MIDI clips to build a composition.
   o Techniques for arranging and layering sounds.
5. Effects and Processing:
   o Applying audio effects such as EQ, reverb, delay, and compression.
   o Sidechain compression and creating dynamic mixes.
   o Automation of parameters over time for evolving sound.
6. Mixing and Mastering:
   o Basic mixing concepts: balancing levels, panning, and EQing.
   o Using Ableton’s mixing tools (e.g., EQ Eight, Compressor, and Glue Compressor).
   o Introduction to mastering techniques for finalizing a track.
7. Exporting and Finalizing Projects:
   o Exporting stems and full tracks for distribution.
   o Tips for optimizing export settings for
       different formats (MP3, WAV, etc.).

   o Duration: 3 months

   o Session Length: 2 hours per session 

   o Total Sessions: 12 sessions (assuming weekly sessions)
